Japanese Language Advisor
Dr. Arpita Paul is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Japanese, Visva-Bharati University, West Bengal, India, with extensive academic and research experience in Japanese language, literature, and cultural studies. She is currently serving as a Visiting Researcher at Daito Bunka University, Japan, under the prestigious Japan Foundation Japanese Studies Fellowship 2025–26 supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan. Through her interdisciplinary and intercultural research, Dr. Paul has actively contributed to the advancement of Japanese Studies in India.
She completed her Master’s degree in Japanese Language, Literature and Culture Studies and later earned her Ph.D. in Japanese Literature from the Centre for Japanese Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Her academic journey also includes international research engagements at Kansai International Exchange Institute, Osaka, and Tokyo Gakugei University, Japan. Her ongoing research focuses on the reception of Indian philosophical thought in modern Japan, reflecting her deep interest in India–Japan intellectual and cultural exchanges.
As Advisor for the Japanese Language Program at CandleSkill, Dr. Paul brings rich academic expertise, international research exposure, and intercultural insights to guide the program toward academic excellence and global relevance.
